So The Rock is Playing Which DC Character?!

The-Rock-wwe-champion-hd-wallpapers.jpgFor months now Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been teasing fans the world over of his involvement in the DC Cinematic Universe and now we may finally be closer to finding out just who he might be playing!

Although earlier this year the rumors began to fly that perhaps The Rock would be playing John Stewart, one of the other Green Lanterns, and would be joining the cast of the jam packed Batman v Superman and ultimately be a part of the Justice League movie, but that does not seem to be the case after hearing Johnson’s recent comments.

In a recent interview with Total Film,  Johnson hints that Shazam , a movie already heavily rumored, just might be his chosen superhero  and we could have an announcement at this weeks San Diego Comic-Con!

But don’t take my word for it..read what the Brama Bull had to say…

“I will say this. There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce very soon that I’m going to play, and I’ll just say this: This character has the power of Superman, he can throw down. Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Power of Superman? Shazam it is then

What Does Sean Astin Know About The Goonies Sequel?

Image

I had a chance to attend Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia this weekend and sat in on a Q&A with Sean Astin, one of the topics was the rumored Goonies sequel that we’ve heard about for decades. Here’s what Sean had to say:

Question: What would you like to see in a Goonies sequel? A continuation or a new cast?

Astin: I’d like for the bulk of the movie to be out the original Goonies in their grown up life recapturing their sense of adventure that is like their childhood but with stakes that makes sense for grown up Goonies, and the at the end, it should be a passing of the torch to the next generation of Goonies, then you can have hundreds of generations of Goonies. But I feel if you just leap frog to the young kids, it’ll leave a lot of the people who are standing in line asking me to sign autographs who love the Goonies felling a little let down. So I think they (Richard Donner & Co) have been really struggling to find that balance. I don’t know that, but they’ve gotten several screenplays. I know that Dick (Donner) has been saying for many years that it is happening imminently, but I don’t think they have a shooting script yet. Whatever they come up with it’ll be good cause Steven (Spielberg) won’t say yes until it’s good.

Sound off…will we see a new Goonies movie soon and if so will the original cast return?!

RUMOR MILL: Is Matt Damon back as Jason Bourne for Bourne 5?!

Image

Latino-Review is at it again! El Mayimbe is reporting that Matt Damon is in fact back for another go around as the amnesia stricken spy. This news is coming just days after Paramount had announced that the fifth Bourne movie would be pushed back from its original date of August 14, 2015 to July 15, 2016. Since no real reason was given regarding the move, speculation has begun to brew which has led to today’s bombshell by scoop master El Mayimbe.

I know I know…we’ve heard this before right? But hold on a moment let’s talk this out…

Matt Damon stated in the past he wouldn’t do another Bourne movie without Paul Greengrass as the director? Just last month Damon told CNBC the following:

“I’ve always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director. We’ve just never been able to come up with a story. So if any of your viewers have a story, please call Universal and submit it. It felt like such a good way to end it the last time… But having said that, I love that character and I’d love to see what happened to him.”

With Fast and the Furious’s Justin Lin attached to direct that would seem to be a hurdle that would need to be overcome but the ball has been and will always be in Matt Damon’s court. Although latest Bourne movie, The Bourne Legacy, which starred Jeremy Renner as a new character, Aaron Cross did well at the box office, it couldn’t match the popularity of the franchise that Damon’s films. Many have speculated that Universal would try and convince Matt Damon, but is it the right choice?

Jeremy Renner’s performance was strong behind a much weaker script. Given the proper opportunity,a Renner led Bourne franchise has an strong chance of succeeding. If Universal is knocking on Damon’s door already chances are they are worried of a repeat outing. Now what will be interesting is if Universal can convince Damon to sign on for an duel outing with both Renner’s Cross and Damon’s Bourne to help offer multiple options to keep the franchise chugging for years to come. Only time will tell if this rumor will stick but no matter who the star is, I’ll be there on July 15,2016.

Sound off! Do you want to see Matt Damon back?!
